Where it all started.

I have loved art all my life, though my first love of art was found through painting. This is something I shared with my late father, who was an extraordinary artist. My eye for composition and light blossomed in photography. I began with a love of adventure, driving around aimlessly looking for hidden places in nature in need of documenting. Abandoned and forgotten pieces of the world fascinated me. Though now when I hunt for my next secret spot, I will be sure to not trespass on private property!

I studied photography at Longwood University

During my time at Longwood, I was given the opportunity to attend the 2015 Society for Photographic Education (SPE) in New Orleans, LA. I'll never forget the feeling of meeting a photographer I admired, looking through and complimenting my work.

We got married in the heat of the pandemic.

I actually met Ben through an online videogame on New Year of 2020, and our first date was the first weekend of COVID lockdown. Being from Canada he was unable to go back home when he had intended. Day after day passed and the more in love we fell the more we realized we could not part, so we got hitched!

After only 6 months of dating, we tied the knot. Crazy right? Two years later, it remains the best decision of my life.

I totally have my own unicorn... sort of.

This is my horse Smoke. He has the kindest soul, and cutest ears, and will lick your hand with kisses when he greats you like a big puppy!

The meaning behind our name.

My first horse- my heart horse, was my big black bean, George.

We lost him in the fall of 2019 and felt utterly devastated as it was sudden and I had him since I was a young girl.

We had grown up together.

His show name was "Diamond in the Rough", and so I combined our names so that his memory stays close to me always.
